Hervé Moreau
A green light to vibrant colors

Hervé Moreau is a self-taught, French-born artist and musician based in Summerville, South Carolina. Inspired as a child by his father and a love of comic strips, his lifelong practice centers on storytelling, rhythm, and capturing the Lowcountry’s unique character.Driven by curiosity, Hervé draws inspiration from every genre—from portraits and pop art to landscapes. Working in acrylic and oil, he is best known for his comic strip-style, multi-panel, and triptych compositions that reimagine Charleston-area landmarks through bold visual energy and structured framing. He works across formats ranging from mini canvases to large statement pieces, personally producing archival giclée prints of his work.Because his painting sessions are always accompanied by music—from rock and jazz to everything in between—Hervé brings a natural sense of tempo, rhythm, and harmony to the canvas. Alongside his studio work, he is an active local artist and educator teaching video production, music technology/songwriting, and Spanish, continuously exploring the connection between visual, sonic, and digital media.
